While you probably wouldn't have guessed it given the relatively modest size, the latest Sony console is quite easy to repair at home. No adhesive was used for putting the PS4 together, which means taking it apart and putting it back together is quite easy (although it does void your warranty).
The only problem was that the metal mid-plane is very sharp – an issue the tear down guy found the hard way. If you can get past that however you will be able to replace just about every component of your console without taking it to a service centre.
